This non-fiction book for children brings together 38 exciting stories from women working in STEM. 19 women from the past and 19 women from the present share their lives and experiences. In Austria, women have only been allowed to study technology since 1919. Since then there have been more every day!
This read aloud book for elementary school classes is primarily aimed at children aged 6 to 9 or their teachers. Every elementary school in Austria has received a free copy by mail in autumn 2023.
In order to make it easier and more versatile to use in lessons, the digital accompanying booklet adds important background information, a glossary for difficult terms in child-friendly language and a selection of interactive methods for individual portraits.
Let’s empower Austria (LEA) is an Austrian collective, founded to strengthen and promote women and girls. It’s  intend is to create a framework for initiatives and measures to break down outdated stereotypes, develop potential and enable freedom of choice. LEA has set itself the goal of promoting women-specific concerns in all areas of society, strengthening the economic independence of women and girls and thus contributing to actual equality between women and men.
